AED Compliance Program
Comply with the laws — protect yourself from liability
Compliance Programs Starting at $150/Year
There are a number of local, state and federal rules and regulations pertaining to AEDs. The California Civil Code states that a person or entity is NOT liable for any civil damages if specific laws and policies are followed. We, at Survival CPR, make it simple for you to comply with the laws that protect you from liability.
To implement an AED program and meet the requirements of law, our company will:
- Provide our in-house licensed physician to be your medical director
- Write an emergency response system plan for your AED
- Make proper notifications to your local EMS agency
- Document AED equipment compliance inspections
- Provide medical oversight and documentation following an AED event
Each AED must be checked regularly, and the interval varies depending on the workplace. These compliance checks require that expired batteries and/or electrode pads be replaced if they are expired or not functioning. We will contact your program designee when your inspection is due to confirm the compliance check was completed and that the batteries and pads are in compliance.
For busy clients, we offer an optional onsite service in which we come to your location to perform the checks. Either way, we will keep a log of these compliance checks per state law.
Cost
Our AED program is a straight-forward membership with no startup, early termination or other hidden fees. The cost is $150 per year, per AED machine.
*Our clients qualify for free shipping on all AED accessories!
Questions About Liability?
We have answers
Compliance
Let us help you stay in compliance with the changing rules and regulations. California laws had several changes in 2016. We follow the most conservative interpretations of the laws to keep you in compliance.
Liability
The California Civil Code, among others, outlines the process to keep employers and employees protected from civil liability. Sometimes the “Good Samaritan Law” takes effect, sometimes it doesn’t. Our AED Program keeps you protected.
Public Safety Agencies
Police, Fire and EMS departments and responders operate under a variety of regulations. We can help you sift through them and design both training and AED Compliance programs to meet your needs.
Personal AEDs
Neither a prescription or an AED Compliance program is required when an AED is purchased for home use at a big-box retailer. There IS liability if that AED is to be used at a business location or on someone other than yourself.
